Just an update as to what is going on down here in beautiful, sunny Florida.
Things are progressing very nicely with the house, and Lord-willing we will be able to close on Monday, June 16. We were able to lock in at a low interest rate of 5%. This was another answer to prayer. We were happy with the home inspection — there was very little that we requested to be repaired. And as for the appraisal, it came back higher than what we are paying for the house, so right off the bat we will have some equity into the house. We are so excited!!! We are renting our apartment until the end of June, so we have plenty of time to get things moved over and settled. We are hoping to do some painting and carpet cleaning before we move all the furniture over.
Grandma and Grandpa Heinrich are coming to see us June 19-23 and we are so excited to see them! We will have a good visit. Soon after they leave my mom is flying down to help me with some painting and wallpapering. I am so thankful she is coming to help me with these projects. She has a lot more expertise in these areas and she will be a good sounding board for my decorating ideas. She will be here for a while, and then my dad is driving down to join here on vacation. They will spend some time together here and then they will travel on over to LA to visit Mike and Liz. God blessed my Dad with another job working for the city of Minneapolis. He was able to transfer over all his benefits and was able to start work right away so he did not lose one day’s worth of work. We are so thankful!
Melissa is so much fun! She is just so cute, and fun to watch. She is into everything, and so we really have to keep an eye on her an make sure that she follows the rules we have set down. She can now do sign language for “please” and “thank you” and she can do it most of the time on command. She has a passion for the dishwasher. I don’t understand it, but every time she is up and the dishwasher is open, she makes a beeline for it. On occasion she has even climbed up onto the door of the dishwasher. She is also growing fond of the refrigerator. When you open the door, she wants to put herself front and center and explores all she can. She usually doesn’t get to far with that exploring part, but she seems to enjoy trying. She is walking really good now and at times she tries to walk really fast, so running must not be too far behind. Last week I trimmed some of her front hair to give her bangs. I think it helped her overall appearance a little bit. Her hair, if it is not fixed in pigtails or something, looks so scraggly. I think the bangs helped. Jason and I brought her to the park about 2 weeks ago and she likes the slides. She even likes climbing the steps up into the little play area at the park.
